Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Overnight Front Desk Manager at The Roxy Hotel is responsible for providing guests with prompt and personalized service, all the while making quick and efficient decisions to improve the experience of each guest’s stay. The position is hands-on with heavy involvement in front office operations, and requires someone who is organized with sharp attention to detail. A successful Overnight Manager atThe Roxy is responsible for overseeing all of the overnight team members and ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner, in accordance to their respective department guidelines and is devoted to curating a unique experience for our guests through exceptional service in a sophisticated, friendly and genuine manner.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of each guest and team member during the overnight shift
Oversee all aspects of overnight operations, including overseeing and monitoring team members in Front Office, front service, housekeeping, engineering, and security in order to maintain productivity and safety
Train and supervise team members during the overnight to maximize the guest service experience
Direct guests and team members during emergency situations and inform all required executives
Make informed and rational decisions during high stress situations in order to keep all parties involved calm and the environment of the hotel consistent to standards; informing all management required
Handle and accommodate all guest requests and concerns with professionalism while in accordance with established standards
Create a work environment that encourages empowerment, learning, and mutual respect among team members
Liaise with housekeeping, engineering, front office, and security to ensure that all overnight team members are productive and on task during their overnight shifts.
Conduct pre-shift meetings with team members from all departments to ensure they are knowledgeable of hotel events, group arrivals, VIPs, etc. and equipped to provide exceptional guest service
Coordinate with front office managers to ensure staffing is appropriate for high demand times.
Manage and oversee all shared email inboxes on a nightly basis providing timely responses
Execute the Daily Sheet and accompanying reports error free
Be fully knowledgeable of the hotel and its operations, including room types, available amenities and services, venue hours, special events, etc. – to ensure exceptional service
Completing administrative tasks, including schedules & payroll, supplies & inventory and department month-end reporting
Training, scheduling and disciplining front office team members, with a focus on developing talent
Ensuring all monthly and annual GLR and upsell goals are met
Updating all front office inventory needs with office supplies, printing and stationary, and operating supplies
Communicate any team members concerns with front desk managers & director of front office
Maintaining front office Banks – reliably reporting and resolving discrepancies

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous luxury NYC experience required
Open availability, able to work late nights, overnights, weekends and holidays
Excellent guest relation and communication skills
Maintains a friendly, professional, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
An understanding of NYC culture and events is a plus
Ability to speak additional languages is a plus
Opera, Opera Cloud preferred
Knowledge knowgcross preferred

ABILITY TO

Give feedback to department heads regarding performance of overnight team members in their department
Conduct morning pre-shift meeting (at end of shift) to provide recap of major events or issues arising in the night for follow up during the day
Ensure room inventory is closely monitored and closed out properly during high occupancy and sold out situations
Monitor Knowcross usage and ensure all calls are entered for tracking of guest issues and response times
Assist with concierge related guest requests

WORK ENVIRONMENT

All areas of the hotel during overnight shift

The only manager on duty most nights

Task and report focused

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
