HavenStone Advisory is hiring a Senior Tax Advisor to protect the technical quality of our work and serve as a trusted advisor to the business owners we work with.

Our clients rely on us to reduce unnecessary taxes, understand their numbers, and build lasting wealth, which requires strong technical work, proactive advice, and genuine relationships, in that order. Our team isn’t just technically sharp - we care deeply about each other and our clients.

Compensation and Benefits

$90,000–$115,000 base, per experience, credentials, and demonstrated capability
Quarterly performance bonus up to 15% base
100% remote

How We Work

Meaningful autonomy and team support, in exchange for proactive communication, documented work and full ownership of results. Fully remote, plus dependable availability during agreed collaboration hours, client meetings, and critical deadlines.

What You'll Own

Review complex individual, S-corp, partnership, and trust returns from our production team for accuracy, completeness, and documentation.
Catch errors, filing risks, and planning opportunities before final approval.
Research issues and document conclusions.
Lead quarterly planning and advisory meetings for your assigned relationships.
Translate strategies, risks, and projections into language clients can act on.
Set clear expectations on deadlines and responsibilities, including delivering difficult information, and follow up so agreed actions actually happen.
Review tax preparers’ work and coach the reasoning behind review notes so quality rises over time.
Delegate by skill, risk, and deadline, then monitor to completion rather than assuming the next step happens.
Escalate significant risks early while staying responsible for driving them forward.

You're Likely a Fit If You Have

5+ years of recent U.S. tax prep, review, and advisory experience, strong on individual, S-corp, and partnership returns for businesses and high-income individuals.
Demonstrated experience reviewing other professionals' work and leading planning meetings with business owners.
CPA or EA strongly preferred.
Detail orientation that doesn't lose the deadline or the broader client picture.
The confidence to lead a client conversation, give direct feedback, and challenge incomplete work without becoming defensive when your own conclusions are questioned.
The judgment to hold boundaries with clients and teammates instead of absorbing unmanaged urgency.
