Duties

Lead and supervise all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production and presentation in line with brand standards and guest expectations
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining cost control and inventory management efficiency
Oversee food safety sanitizing procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and industry best practices
Manage food handling, preparation, and service processes to guarantee consistency, freshness, and safety across all offerings
Supervise and mentor culinary staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement and professional growth
Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to detail and flawless execution
Monitor inventory control, ordering supplies as needed to optimize costs without compromising quality
Implement kitchen policies related to food management, sanitation, safety standards, and shift management
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction

Soundview Caterers is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at our premier waterfront catering venue on Long Island.

We are looking for a passionate, creative, and highly organized chef with a strong background in American, French, and Italian cuisine, as well as experience executing high-volume weddings, corporate events, and upscale private celebrations.

Responsibilities

Lead all kitchen operations and culinary staff
Design and execute exceptional menus for weddings and special events
Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across every event
Manage food purchasing, inventory, and food costs
Ensure compliance with all health and food safety regulations
Train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team
Work closely with management to create memorable guest experiences

Qualifications

5+ years of Executive Chef or Sous Chef experience in catering, banquet, hotel, or fine dining
Strong knowledge of American, French, and Italian cuisine
Experience serving high-volume events while maintaining exceptional quality
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
