CNC Machinist

(Confidential Precision Manufacturing Organization)

Position Overview

A precision manufacturing organization is seeking an entry to mid-level CNC Machinist to support production operations involving advanced multi-axis machining equipment. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling and turning centers used to manufacture complex, high-precision components.

The ideal candidate has strong machining fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting highly regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications and production documentation
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and GD&T requirements
Select tooling, adjust offsets, and verify machine settings to ensure dimensional accuracy and production efficiency
Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM equipment
Complete secondary finishing operations including deburring, polishing, and grinding as required
Maintain accurate production, inspection, and maintenance documentation
Support troubleshooting and resolution of machining or quality issues in collaboration with engineering, quality, and production teams
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards
Perform additional production-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Associate degree or technical certification in CNC Machining Technology preferred
Minimum of 2 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of machining fundamentals, shop mathematics, G-code, and M-code programming concepts
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, and reaching
Ability to lift up to approximately 55 pounds
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
Familiarity with FANUC, Siemens, or similar CNC control systems
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, or continuous improvement methodologies
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Work Environment

Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machining equipment and industrial processes
Requires adherence to all safety procedures and PPE requirements
Team-oriented environment focused on precision, quality, and operational efficiency

Pay: $31.61 - $47.42 per hour
