Full Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Virtual Clinical Mental Health Therapist with a current LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) or LCSW-C (Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical) credential in the State of Maryland. The therapist will provide telehealth counseling services to clients experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. This is a remote position that requires a high level of autonomy, clinical competence, and ethical responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual (and/or group/family) therapy sessions via secure telehealth platforms
Complete initial consult calls
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing evaluations
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care)
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and licensing standards
Participate in regular clinical supervision and team meetings (as required by licensing)
Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other treatment professionals as needed
Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards set by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
Willingness to provide marketing support

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Work
Active Maryland LMSW or LCSW-C license in good standing (required)
Experience providing therapy to diverse populations, preferably in a virtual or outpatient setting
Proficient in using telehealth platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems
Strong organizational and time management skills
Reliable internet connection and private, professional virtual therapy environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest or experience in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, adults, and children
Certification or training in specialized modalities (e.g., EMDR, DBT, TF-CBT), or a desire to obtain certifications
Willingness to pursue clinical supervision hours toward LCSW-C licensure

Experience

A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.
Proven experience in behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with clinical research methodologies is a plus.
Experience in crisis management and working with diverse populations is essential.
Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance is necessary.
Previous experience in chronic pain counseling or gender issues counseling will be considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are critical for success in this role.
