Full Job Description

Our growing and thriving Optometry office is looking for an Optometric Technician to provide several tasks as part of our team. Our office is friendly and fun; we consider each team member like an extension of our own families. This important team member has duties that include pre-testing, contact lens training, assist in the optical, billing, and more. We are looking for this team member to work and interact with all new and existing patients according to our commitment to excellent customer service, patient education, and superior optometric products. Prior optometry experience is required. Additional training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Pre-testing patients, includes Auto-Refractor, OCT, Optomap, and Dry Eye Screening
Heading the contact lens department which includes patient insertion and removal training, placing orders and order tracking, maintenance of diagnostic lens inventory, and maintaining and promoting our myopia management program
Invoicing and submitting insurance claims
Assist in the optical as needed with frame selection, dispensing, and repairs
Assist in answering incoming office calls to address customer needs and questions
Entering and updating patient electronic records and scheduling appointments as needed

Desired Skills:

Experience in an optometry-related role required.
Minimum two years experience in an office related environment.
Familiar with optometric electronic health records and general computer software experience, including Google docs
Professional, customer-focused interactions
Excellent verbal presence and customer service skills to portray your desire to meet the needs of the patients in ways that validate their importance to our practice.
Team player
Exhibit the ability to work well with others while supporting all members of the team and ensuring a well-coordinated patient experience.

Brand Championship

The Optometric Technician must be comfortable acting in the best interest of the practice which entails consistently promoting our practice’s passion for service to our patients and their vision and eye health.

Detail Orientation

Must have the ability to maintain a high level of detail orientation despite frequent interruptions, including the organizational skills to follow-up on tasks to ensure completion. Accuracy and attention to patient care, charting, and ordering are an absolute must.

Pace of the Environment

Must be able to work at a fast pace and multi-task effectively, while maintaining friendly interactions with patients, guests of the practice, and team members. Important to utilize down time for completion of unfinished job tasks and ongoing patient recall.

This is a full-time position with hourly pay and benefits. Benefits include sick pay, PTO, holiday pay, health insurance, long-term disability, and IRA plan (restrictions apply).
