Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to help lead our firm's tax practice. In this pivotal role, you will oversee staff members and have client contact. You will help ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements while optimizing tax strategies across various business segments. Your expertise in business tax preparation and review of S Corp, C Corp, Multi-member LLC's and Trust/Estate tax returns will be invaluable to the team. Experience with reviewing personal income tax returns is a plus. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects all within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Duties

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns with precision, ensuring compliance with current laws and regulations.
Conduct detailed analysis of client prepared financial statements, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to support accurate tax reporting.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar tools for bookkeeping, account analysis, internal/management only financial reporting.
Provide insights into financial concepts like debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and asset management to enhance team and client understanding of complex transactions.
Communicate effectively with clients to request documentation, answer inquiries and provide actionable guidance to our clients.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
Extensive tax experience with a strong background in corporate accounting and public accounting environments.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent platforms.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation tasks.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Familiarity with payroll processing, state sales tax processing and budgeting techniques, is advantageous.
