Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Manager, Internal Fabrication & Metrology Tool Development to lead our internal manufacturing and measurement tool initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the design, development, and optimization of fabrication processes and precision metrology tools within a high-tech manufacturing environment. You will oversee cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and ensure the seamless integration of advanced fabrication techniques and metrology systems to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Duties

Lead the design, development, and validation of fabrication tools, fixtures, and metrology systems using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and AutoCAD.
Manage project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of tool development milestones while coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Conduct root cause analysis on fabrication or measurement issues to identify process improvements or corrective actions.
Oversee the programming and integration of robotics, CNC machines, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and vision inspection systems to automate manufacturing processes.
Develop schematics, process flow diagrams, and technical documentation for fabrication equipment and metrology tools in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize fabrication workflows, reduce waste, and improve throughput on assembly lines.
Collaborate with process engineers to refine manufacturing procedures involving plastics injection molding, welding, CNC programming, CAM programming, and industrial equipment setup.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
Proven experience in manufacturing facility management with a focus on fabrication tooling and metrology systems.
Strong mechanical knowledge combined with expertise in CAD (SolidWorks, Creo), schematics creation, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAM programming.
Hands-on experience with robotics programming, CNC machining (CNC), laser welding, assembly line automation, and vision inspection systems.
Proficiency in project scheduling tools and methodologies for managing multiple concurrent projects effectively.
Skilled in root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot complex issues within manufacturing processes or tooling systems.
Knowledge of industrial engineering principles including process engineering, continuous improvement practices such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Familiarity with industrial equipment standards such as ISO 9001 certification requirements.
Excellent mechanical aptitude combined with factory experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
