Full Job Description

About the Role

This is a full-time position within a collaborative, fast-paced litigation environment. We are seeking an experienced paralegal who can operate with minimal supervision, manage multiple active matters, and produce high-quality, court-ready work. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation and case management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery (Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, Requests for Production, Requests for Admission), declarations, and correspondence
Managing cases from intake through resolution, including maintaining deadlines, calendaring hearings, and tracking litigation milestones
Preparing and filing documents in California state courts and federal courts (including e-filing platforms such as One Legal and PACER/CM/ECF)
Assisting with trial preparation, including exhibit binders, deposition summaries, witness coordination, and trial notebooks
Drafting and responding to discovery, organizing document productions, and coordinating with clients to gather necessary records
Communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third-party vendors (process servers, court reporters, medical providers, etc.)
Supporting attorneys in family law matters (disclosures, income and expense declarations, custody-related filings), probate proceedings, and civil litigation cases including personal injury and elder abuse
Reviewing and organizing medical records, billing records, and other evidentiary documents (particularly for PI and elder abuse matters)
Monitoring case status and proactively identifying next steps to keep cases moving efficiently
Assisting with settlement preparation, including demand packages and supporting documentation
Maintaining accurate and organized electronic and physical case files
Tracking billable time and assisting with billing entries as needed

Qualifications:

Minimum 3–5 years of paralegal experience (litigation experience required; California experience strongly preferred)
Experience in family law, probate, and/or civil litigation (personal injury or elder abuse experience is a strong plus)
Strong working knowledge of California Rules of Court and civil procedure deadlines
Experience with e-filing systems (e.g., One Legal, PACER/CM/ECF)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and familiarity with legal case management systems (e.g., Clio or similar)
Ability to draft legal documents with minimal supervision and follow attorney direction accurately
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused demeanor
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience preparing trial materials and supporting attorneys through trial
Familiarity with billing practices and time entry
Experience handling sensitive client matters, particularly in family law or elder abuse cases

Compensation & Benefits:

· Salary range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually DOE
